Creative Resonance Therapy
Dr. Molly Scott is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She developed Creative Resonance, which draws upon a person's natural capacity to align body, mind and spirit in the resonance we call health. Using the tools of psychotherapy, expressive therapies, EMDR, movement, bodywork, and the energetic power of voice, Dr. Scott works with the old stories we have encoded as painful patterns from the past, and helps transform them to new stories in the present.

Creative Resonance Therapy offers effective techniques and compassionate support for people dealing with trauma, abuse, relational difficulties, and emotional and spiritual crisis. Dr. Scott also works with blocks to creativity, performance coaching, and communication and relational skills. The goal of the work together is balanced, harmonious expression at all levels of relationship--with ourselves and with our world.

 MUSICIAN

As a musician, performer, and recording artist, Molly Scott has devoted her performing and songwriting career to supporting issues of peace and social justice. As a therapist and educator, Dr. Scott has focused her clinical work and research on the role that vocal resonance plays in the healing process, particularly in the treatment of trauma.

Dr. Scott's extensive career in music and the performing arts has led her from the world of concerts, radio, television and theater, to a doctoral degree in counseling psychology and a focus on the power of the voice to effect personal, spiritual and political change. Beginning her performing career as a folksinger, then training in classical voice, musical theater and composition, her wide experience in different forms and styles shapes her eclectic approach to music. Her focus as a composer and performer is to "create music which illuminates our connections with the earth and each other". A practicing psychotherapist and educator as well as musician, she lectures and leads workshops and trainings in the United States and Europe on the therapeutic use of the voice.

Sound as Touch
Sound as Touch is a complimentary Creative Resonance training for therapists, body workers, and healers interested in incorporating healing touch through sound in vibrational mind/body therapy. The work combines techniques from psychotherapy, touch therapies, psychoacoustics, voice, and bodywork.

Sound as Touch is premised on the concept of the body as a resonant instrument, responsive to behaviors governing all non-linear systems in which a small, focused intervention can generate large changes in the field. Our cells act as semi-conductors, transforming energetic impulses, including sound, into electrical messages, which affect the entire living tissue matrix of the body. In practice, this means that sound, like light touch, can generate significant change at the cellular level. Indeed, the cells interpret sound as a kind of touch and respond accordingly.

In Sound as Touch hands-on / voice-on practice, participants learn to work deeply and respectfully with the body using sonic subtle energy techniques. Particular attention is paid to deepened listening, talking to the body and to boundary issues in work with voice and touch.

Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
