at the Threshold by The
Threshold Choir, 2004 After singing together at bedside vigils
for four years, the Threshold Choirs are happy and proud
to produce our first CD of 34 original songs written by
members. As the CD title implies, a lot of what we do
at bedsides is listen: to breath, for relaxation, to each
other, to our own hearts. These songs are among the most
treasured of our repertoire and have been deep medicine
for the composers as well as for the singers. We offer
them to you in the hope that, regardless of singing experience,
you will feel empowered to make these songs your own,
to sing them to those you love, and to invite them to
sing back to you. Recorded live in the Tunnel at the Headlands,
Marin County, and the Chapel, Dominican Hospital in Santa

Rain by The Threshold Choir,
2006 fTenderly Rain was recorded at the
Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, CA and the Chapel at
Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA, and the Church Space
at the Dance Palace, Point Reyes Station, all acoustical
wonders.
The family of Jane H. Saline, honored the loving memory
of their mother, wife and singer, 1925 - 2002, by supporting

Singer (Lee Ellen Shoemaker) Over the Straits of San Juan
de Fuca, stars ignite magination. Constellations
from portraits, ancient stories fore tell our inner Wisdom.
This recording was dome at the U-shaped mortar magazine
in Fort Worden State Park, Port Townsend, Washington.
Water
Birth by the Tunnel Singer
(Lee Ellen Shoemaker) This third album by The Tunnel
Singer flows into the ambient realm. Meditative, entrancing
solo vocals recorded live in the "Cistern Chapel"
without electronic processing. The natural 45-second long
acoustic reverberation of the space creates an undulating
soundscape, evoking images of sea creatures, swaying leaves
and inner space.
Inner
Runes by the Tunnel Singer
(Lee Ellen Shoemaker) Recorded live the ethereal vocal
improvisations are accompanied by Tibetan singing bowls
recorded live in a "tuned" column at The Palace
of Fine Arts, a well-known San Francisco landmark. The
Tunnel Singer's remarkable solo voice reverberates in
the space. The Tunnel Singer and a sound engineer entered
one of the rotunda's wedge-shaped support columns, the
Sound Column, used by the Explorium to demonstrate sound
wave interference patterns. The precise eight-second reverberation
is created by sound moving through the 64-feet high column.
Ravens in Moonlight by the
Tunnel Singer (Lee Ellen Shoemaker) Earthy, mysterious improvised
vocals with didgeridoo and percussion recorded live in
a tunnel with an 8-second natural acoustic reverberation.
Natural ambience of the tunnel is preserved with no added
electronic effects.
Sailing
the Solar Wind by the Tunnel
Singer (Lee Ellen Shoemaker) Sailing the Solar
Wind pilots a tranquil yet energizing journey that begins
with a cosmic glide on the solar wind. A refreshing thundershower
moves to the desert where a secluded bloom emerges fragrant
in the night. The pace slows to explore the mystery of
water flowing into sea caves, lifts into an exploration
of the color red, then reenters the earthly plane to dance
with enlivened ravens. The music combines vocals, percussion,
field recordings and electronic processing.
Crystal Voices: The Harmonic Vibrations
of Crystal Singing Bowls by
Deborah VanDyke and Valerie Farnsworth Deborah Van Dyke and Valerie Farnsworth
are sound healers in Vancouver, Canada. They teach Sacred
Sound Healing Intensives (combining vocal toning and harmonics
with crystal bowl healing techniques) and perform Planetarium
