Amrita
uses sound to take you to "the center within," where all
of your answers reside. The sounds are created by crystal
singing bowls, bells, chimes, and Amrita's heavenly "soul
singing". Amrita plays the singing crystal bowls with
impressive skill. As she sings her voice becomes transparent,
and the music that comes from the combination is like
a sonic hologram. People are able to access deep textures
of consciousness as they listen, and experience their
own inner vibrations of heart and mind. Her voice guides
you into virtual sound labyrinth as she accesses healing
harmonics and powerful overtones, directing you through
focused intention to the areas where healing is most needed.
Sessions are healing, life changing, relaxing and nurturing.
Her work comes from insights received during her own incredible
healing from breast cancer using sound and breath.

Threshold
Choir
Amrita
is a member of the Santa Cruz chapter of the Threshold Choir (there
are 12 choirs in the San Francisco Bay area and others
scattered around the world.) The all-women Threshold Choirs,
founded by Kate Munger, honor the ancient tradition of
singing at the bedsides of people who are struggling:
some with living, some with dying. The voice, as the original
human instrument, is a true and gracious vehicle for compassion
and comfort. The choirs provide opportunities for women
to share the sacred gifts of their voices at life's thresholds.
Either with other Threshold choir members, or alone, Amrita
is available to sing at bedsides. Please feel free to
contact Amrita if you would like her to come sing at a
bedside.
Threshold Choir has two beautiful CDs of music. Click

MUSICIAN
Entering Devachan
Devachan is Sanskrit for the place of the gods, paradise; commonly referred to as heaven. In this realm we experience healing, find rest from all the concerns and worries of our earthly life, and feel the vitality of our natural essence. We are revived, enlivened, and renewed. Entering Devachan was co-created by Amrita and Sage just before 9/11/01 with great intention to carry listeners into their own "heaven on earth," the place where deep and lasting healing happens.

The Encyclopedia of Sound: A Researchers' Guide
to Sound and Music in the Healing Arts
The Encyclopedia of Sound dispells
the myth that there is little documented scientific evidence
of the power of sound to improve the quality of daily
life. Amrita reveals, through the more than 7200 citations,
how our whole universe is composed of vibrations, and
how they affect us on many levels.
Whether you have spent days in the library, hours combing
the Internet, or you are just beginning your search for
information on the healing power of sound and music, The
Encyclopedia of Sound will be a valuable
tool for you.
Amrita has been compiling research for years, and is pleased
to make this unique and long-awaited two-volume annotated
bibliography available soon.
The Dictionary
of Sound: A Practical Glossary of
Sound and Music in the Healing Arts
The Dictionary of Sound is
a companion to The Encyclopedia of Sound,
and for anyone who is interested in the
growing field of sound healing and psychoacoustics, it
is a must have. This dictionary defines subjects from
autism to zoology and absolute pitch to zikr, covering
topics from academics to yoga and many areas of interest
in between. You'll be amazed at how many terms (from basic
to the highly obscure) are connected to sound and vibration.
Amrita has been compiling this glossary of terms for many
years, and is pleased to make this Dictionary
of Sound available soon.
The Chantnal
Amrita
is co-authoring, with Peggy Black, a compilation of healing
chants and vocal sound exercises. This book is being heralded
as "A work whose time has come. A wealth of resources,
I feel this book was divinely inspired. I recommend it
most highly to those who are very familiar with chanting
and to those for whom this material is entirely new. There
is healing here. There is tangible spiritual progress
here. There is a route to spiritual light and spiritual
knowledge here. Dig deeply into it and mine the treasures
this volume can give you." according to Thomas Ashley
Farrand, author of many books and CD's on Mantra and Chant.

Graceful Amazon
Amrita is writing about her journey into healing from a second round of breast cancer in 1999 by utilizing her voice and breath. Her amazing recovery took only six weeks from the time of the diagnosis until the day she was scheduled for surgery and the doctors found that the two tumors had "disappeared." Amrita chronicles her amazing journey and how she continues to heal herself on a daily basis through sound, prayer, meditation, intentions and affirmations, and most of all the practice of allowing grace.

RESEARCHER
The Effects of Sound and Music on the Emotions
Amrita received her B.A. in Health Arts and Sciences from Goddard College in Vermont in 2001 as an independent scholar. She focused her studies on Sound Healing and Vibrational Medicine. Amrita created a pilot study which investigated the issue of grief--how grief manifests in the human experience; how sound and music can assist people in expressing grief in a healthy way, and how the sounds in nature may provide the tones and rhythms to help people in their grief process. The study was impressive and the findings were intriguing. It is Amrita's intention to create a full study in the near future, and she is seeking funding for this study. Please contact Amrita if you are interested in learning more about this interesting study.
Amrita is committed to furthering the development and implementation of "Sound Research" in studying the effects of sound on the human body, psyche and spirit.
